Join Our Team in Supporting the National Weather Service Forecasting Mission
 
Science and Technology Corporation (STC) is excited to be supporting Accenture Federal Services (AFS) on the National Weather Service AWIPS Application Environment contract, which modernizes and sustains the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) used by forecasters across the United States.
 
AWIPS is the mission-critical system that enables National Weather Service forecasters to analyze weather data, visualize environmental conditions, and issue forecasts and warnings that protect lives and property. The contract supports more than 168 National Weather Service forecast offices and operational sites, delivering modernized software, infrastructure, and data services that power the Nation’s weather forecasting capability.
 
As part of the AFS team, STC is building a multidisciplinary group of software engineers, data engineers, cloud engineers, and developers who will design, build, and maintain the modern technology platforms supporting the AWIPS application environment. These systems ingest and process large volumes of environmental data from satellites, radar networks, observational sensors, and weather prediction models to enable real-time forecasting and decision support.
 
Team members will work alongside engineers, scientists, and operational stakeholders helping to modernize the technologies that enable the National Weather Service to deliver accurate forecasts, severe weather warnings, and environmental intelligence to communities across the Nation.
